A moist and delicious banana bread that's perfect for using up overripe bananas. This classic recipe features a tender crumb and rich banana flavor, with optional walnuts for added crunch. Great for breakfast, snack, or dessert.
Ingredients
- 3 ripe bananas, mashed
- 1/3 cup melted butter
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C)
- Grease a 9x5 inch loaf pan
- Mix mashed bananas with melted butter in a large bowl
- Stir in sugar, egg, and vanilla
- Sprinkle baking soda and salt over mixture
- Stir in flour and cinnamon until just combined
- Fold in walnuts if using
- Pour into prepared loaf pan
- Bake for 50-60 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean
- Let cool in pan for 10 minutes before removing
